Design, purchase, construction, and maintenance of many small business networks for hedge funds and small businesses in the Minneapolis area.
Implementation of a multimillion dollar project to provide a new trading system including software and training, combined with a new desktop trading application and platform for an equities trading environment. Teams consisted of staff from the client, contractors, and various vendors in the service and software sectors. Technologies included workstations running Windows NT 3.51, and 4.0, as well as CICS assembler backoffice applications.
Infrastructure, hardware and software deployment for new interactive kiosks in 414 retail stores nationwide. Kiosks provided sales support for Broadband services being sold by a large retailer of computers, appliances, music and video using Windows NT. Negotiated enterprise site license agreement for bandwidth throttling software running on each of the kiosks. Led deployment of new equipment and training to support complex video distribution services to the video department.
Led a portion of the construction and implementation of a remote disaster recovery site for an equities and fixed income trading operation. Responsibilities included WAN infrastructure for Market Data Services and Implementation of Market Data Services to the desktop withing the DR site.
Led Year 2000 testing and certification efforts for an equities trading operation.
Led multiple implementation projects of new operating systems, software tools, and desktop units for retail branches. Simultaneously, a small data warehouse environment was created for a regulatory proof system for another operating group within the same client.
Managed one third of a large systems development project with responsibility for a project budget in excess of $1.5 million. Over 8,000 development hours were required to fully implement this portion of the system. This project was implemented in 4 months, and involved data distribution from a mainframe IDMS database to a client server SQL database. Data was then distributed to branch offices via automated dial up, where branch offices performed data quality edits, and was returned to the SQL server.
Managed a team of 5-11 staff members for two and one half years to create a travel management system for a travel management company. This project included management of 3-4 contract programmers plus full time employees. Started with the project during the concept and requirements phases, and saw it through the first 6 implementations in branch offices throughout the country.
